Lawrence Park Township is pleased to announce that we are partnering with Waste Management (WM) for residential waste collection starting January 1, 2026.
The Township received bids from several providers and unfortunately every bid resulted in significant price increases for our residents. Ultimately, Waste Management of Pennsylvania (WM) was the most cost effective for residents. Ultimately, there was no option that kept prices the same or lowered them for residents. However, Waste Management’s contract results in lower costs and better services than Pro Waste’s renewal proposal.
• Pro Waste: $97.50 per quarter plus $12.50 per cart rental
• Waste Management: $97.29 per quarter plus $8.01 per cart rental
In addition to being the best price – included are several services that are new for Township residents. Starting January 1, 2026, Lawrence Park residents can expect the following services through Waste Management:
- Weekly trash pickup: unlimited bags, bins, or carts
- Weekly single-stream recycling: must be loose in a designated recycling container (no bagged recyclables)
- Monthly large item pickup
- Leaf Waste: 6 weeks in fall.
- Large Brush (trees, bushes, branches): 1 week in the fall
- At your door hazardous waste collection: scheduled for pickup of everything from motor oil to e-waste, to TVs.
All of this as well as a 10% discount for any resident over 65+.
Many residents currently rent 96-gallon carts from Pro-Waste. As we transition, rented Pro-Waste carts will be collected and returned. If you would like to rent a similar trash cart or a recycling cart from WM you may do so. WM is responsible for all maintenance and repairs for rented carts. To ensure you receive your rented cart by your first service date in January 2026 you must register using the link above before 11/30/2025.
In addition, if you are over the age of 65 and would like to ensure that your first bill includes the 10% senior discount you must register using the attached link before 11/30/2025.
Additional information will be mailed to residents directly from WM later this month. Full billing details will also be provided by WM to each resident depending on personal preferences and services requested. The base cost per household is $97.29 per quarter which does not include any cart-rental or the 10% senior discount. Cart rental is $8.01 per quarter per cart. Per bag service options or to purchase a cart directly from WM residents must contact WM directly.
