Household Hazardous Waste & E-Waste

WM “At Your Door” Service

Lawrence Park Township and Waste Management are happy to provide residents the opportunity to participate in Waste Management’s Household Hazardous Waste / E-Waste – At Your Door program.

This service lets you schedule a home pick-up for many hard-to-dispose-of items like old paint, chemicals, batteries, and electronics. WM sends you a kit, you pack your items, and they pick everything up right from your home.

This program is included as part of the Township’s contract with Waste Management of Pennsylvania.

Who Can Use This Service?

  • Lawrence Park residential households that receive curbside trash and recycling service from Waste Management.
  • Single-family homes and other eligible residential units on WM service routes.

If you are unsure whether you qualify, call WM At Your Door at 1-800-449-7587. (WM)

Note: Details like how many collections per year and any weight limits are set by WM and are listed on the WM flyer mailed to residents.

How the “At Your Door” Service Works

Step 1 – Make a list and schedule

Have a simple list of what you want to get rid of (for example: 2 gallons of old paint, 1 computer monitor, 1 TV, 4 gallons of motor oil).

Then schedule your pickup:

  • Visit WMAtYourDoor.com and follow the prompts, or (WM)
  • Call 1-800-449-7587

You’ll choose a collection date that works for you.

Step 2 – Receive your collection kit

Before your pickup date, you’ll receive a collection kit in the mail. The kit typically includes:

  • A large collection bag or container
  • Labels and/or stickers for your items
  • Easy step-by-step instructions

Follow the instructions in the kit to safely pack and label your items. (wmatyourdoor.com)

Step 3 – Put items out on pickup day

On your scheduled day:

  • Place your packed items outside, near your front door or garage, at ground level
  • Have them out by 7:00 a.m. (wmatyourdoor.com)
  • Make sure everything is easy to see and reach from the street
  • Keep pets secured so the technician can safely access your materials

You do not need to be home. WM technicians will collect the materials between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on your appointment day. (wmatyourdoor.com)

Items cannot be:

  • Inside your home, basement, shed, or behind a locked gate
  • Out by the curb with your regular trash
