Part-Time Seasonal Parks Laborer
Lawrence Park Township is accepting applications for a Part-Time Seasonal Parks Laborer to assist with general summer maintenance of Township parks and public spaces.
This is a seasonal, part-time position involving outdoor work such as litter collection, basic grounds cleanup, weeding, painting, light maintenance, setup/cleanup for park activities, and other duties assigned by Township staff.
This position may be a good fit for individuals seeking flexible summer work, including students, recent graduates, or others interested in part-time outdoor employment.
Compensation
$12.00 per hour
Schedule
This is a part-time seasonal position with flexible scheduling based on Township needs, weather, assigned projects, and employee availability. Hours are not guaranteed and may vary from week to week.
The Township understands that applicants may have sports, school, family, vacation, or other summer commitments and will make reasonable efforts to work with employee availability when possible. In return, employees are expected to communicate availability clearly, report to scheduled shifts reliably, and remain flexible when Township work needs arise.
Hiring is expected to begin immediately.
Typical Duties May Include
General cleanup of parks, playgrounds, and public areas
Trash and litter collection
Weeding, raking, sweeping, and basic grounds maintenance
Painting and minor maintenance
Assisting Township staff with parks and public works-related tasks
Event setup and cleanup assistance
Other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications / Requirements
Must be at least 16 years old by the start date
Ability to perform outdoor physical labor in summer weather conditions
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Dependability, punctuality, and willingness to work as part of a team
Ability to safely lift and carry materials as assigned
Must have reliable transportation to and from the Township Building or assigned work sites
Must provide and wear appropriate safety footwear, including work boots or safety boots suitable for outdoor maintenance work
Must follow Township safety rules and wear required safety gear
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
Applicants under 18 must comply with all applicable Pennsylvania child labor requirements, including work permit requirements
Employees will only be assigned duties permitted by applicable law and Township policy.
Preferred Qualification
A valid driver’s license is preferred but not required, particularly for applicants who may be asked to report to or travel between Township work sites.
