Lawrence Park Township is accepting letters of interest from residents who would like to serve as a Township Commissioner.
The Board of Commissioners will appoint a qualified resident to fill an open seat for a two-year term, completing the remainder of the unexpired term in accordance with Pennsylvania law.
What Commissioners Do
Township Commissioners are part of the Township’s governing body. Together, the five Commissioners:

Set local policy and priorities

Adopt ordinances and resolutions

Approve the annual Township budget
-
Provide oversight of Township operations
Commissioners are expected to attend regular public meetings at 5:30pm on the second Wednesday of each month, budget sessions, and occasional community events. Compensation is provided in accordance with the Pennsylvania First Class Township Code.
Who Can Apply
To be eligible, you must:

Be a registered voter

Have lived in Lawrence Park Township for at least one year
No prior elected experience is required. The Township encourages residents who care about the community and are willing to serve thoughtfully and collaboratively to apply.
